Leidy Laplénie is a photographer artist based in Paris. She has developed a unique universe, characterized by carefully crafted photography in terms of composition, framing, and lighting. Her work lies at the intersection of two approaches: on one hand, a narrative photography rich in details, and on the other hand, a minimalist photography where almost all elements disappear to emphasize a single detail, often the gaze, which plays a central role in her creations. Each image thus invites an intimate and emotional reflection, between absence and presence, silence and speech.
Leidy Laplénie was born in 1998 in Suesca, Colombia. Adopted by a French mother at the age of 10, her dual culture has always been a part of her. Drawn to art, she earned her national art diploma from the Beaux-Arts in Tours and continued her studies at Gobelins, specializing in photography and video for three years. She focused on fashion photography and retouching. During her studies, she also worked intermittently as a lighting assistant, digital technician, and set photographer.
